As we enter this holiday season, I would like to remind people of the option to buy from local artisans / makers / crafts-people. Remember that when buying local your gifts aren't sitting overseas waiting to be shipped. When you buy local you make your dollars work locally. You get the option to brighten 2 sets of lives - the person getting the gift and the local business you bought from. Your support keeps them in business - purchases or your word of mouth - when local artisans thrive it opens the door for future artisans and people needing option to earn a living. Local artisans with local support is a powerful combination - the Ontario Arts and Culture sector is worth 28.7 billion dollars - your support brings those dollars to your locale.
